BIOGRAPHY

Kilian Langrieger was born in Munich in 1999 and received his first piano lessons from Bärbel Speck-Betz at the age of six. In 2009 he entered the Music College of the Regensburger Domspatzen. He sang in the concert choir under the Cathedral Musical Director Professor Roland Büchner, initially as an alto and subsequently as a tenor. During this period he travelled frequently with the choir throughout Germany and Europe and further afield to China and Taiwan.

From age 12 he studied piano under Angelika Lederer at the Domspatzen school, and since 2014 he has been taught at various times by Professor Karl Betz. In 2016 the young musician was also a student of Halina Siedzieniewska-Alberth in Munich. In the same year he successfully took the entrance examination for young students to the HfKM (College for Catholic Church Music) in Regensburg, obtaining a very high mark.

He has won first and second prizes at "Jugend musiziert" competitions, both at state and federal level. He has also won 1st prizes in international competitions, including the 2nd International Piano Competition "Città di Oleggio" and the 11th International Piano Competition "Città di Airola". From 2017 he took additional lessons with Anastasia Zorina in Regensburg while continuing to study with Angelika Lederer.

Kilian Langrieger has gained orchestral experience both with the choir and as a soloist at the piano. This was the case in spring 2018, for example, when he played the D minor Piano Concerto by Johann Sebastian Bach on behalf of the Rotary Club.

In March 2018, he also recorded his first CD, with pieces from the most important stylistic epochs that have particularly shaped his career to date.

After graduating from high school in June 2018, he was awarded a scholarship from the Hildegard Schmalzl Music Foundation in Regensburg. In August, Kilian Langrieger was the only candidate to pass the entrance examination to study solo piano at the Conservatorio di Musica "F. A. Bonporti" in Trento/Italy, achieving the highest score. Since November 2018 he has been studying with Professor Massimiliano Mainolfi.

As a soloist he has participated in master classes of such renowned pianists as Wolfgang Manz, Alexander Kobrin, Andreas Fröhlich, Christian Meinel, Elena Margolina, Alfredo Perl and Olivier Cazal and, for Lied Duo partnering Leon Dreher, those of Benjamin Appl among others.

In October 2022, Kilian Langrieger completed his Bachelor's degree in Italy with 110/110 points.
